    The driving distance from South Luangwa (near the Mfuwe Gate) to Lilongwe, Malawi is around 319 km and takes roughly 5–6 hours by road (not accounting for border crossing times).

    There are also flights available from Lilongwe to Mfuwe, with flight times of around ~1 hour on small regional carriers.

    If starting from the town of Luangwa (near the park), some sources give a longer total distance of ~572 km to Lilongwe depending on route and measurement method.
